How to Use Veloria

A simple daily ritual. Four steps from wet bar to clean skin — plus everything you need to know about storage, sensitivities, and getting the most out of your bar.

Three things to know before your first wash. If you read nothing else, read this.

Veloria is a soap, not a treatment.

It's a daily-use cosmetic bar soap — formulated with tea tree oil, coconut, witch hazel, and ceramides. You use it the way you'd use any bar soap: lather, apply, rinse, once or twice a day as part of your normal routine. It is not a medication, not a leave-on treatment, and not a substitute for medical care.

Patch test before your first full use.

Lather a small amount on the inside of your wrist or forearm, leave for 5 minutes, rinse, and watch the area for 24 hours. If redness, itching, or irritation develops, discontinue use and contact us. As with any skin-care product, individual reactions can vary.

One bar lasts about 10–14 days.

With daily use, most customers get 10–14 days per bar. We recommend keeping two bars on hand for a full month of use. Storing the bar dry between uses (a draining soap dish does most of the work) is the difference between a bar that lasts 10 days and one that lasts 14.

How to Use Veloria

Four steps. Use it once or twice a day, every day.

Wet the bar

Hold Veloria under warm running water until the surface softens slightly. A few seconds is enough — you don't need to soak it. The triple-milled formulation is dense, so the bar holds its shape well even with daily use.

Lather

Rub the bar between your palms or work it into a clean washcloth until you have a dense, creamy lather. Veloria isn't a high-foam soap by design — the lather is concentrated, not airy.

Apply

Apply the lather to the area you want to clean and massage gently into the skin. For areas that face heat, friction, or perspiration, work the lather thoroughly across the surface, then let it sit on the skin briefly before rinsing. Avoid contact with eyes; if soap enters the eyes, rinse immediately with clean water.

Rinse thoroughly

Rinse all lather from the skin with warm water. Don't leave residue. Pat dry gently with a clean towel — and place the bar on a draining soap dish so it can dry between uses (see Care & Storage below).

After Each Use

  • Place the bar on a draining soap dish — not a flat surface that traps water.
  • Position the dish out of direct shower spray so the bar isn't sitting in pooled water between uses.
  • Allow the bar to fully dry between uses. A dry bar lasts noticeably longer.

Storing Unopened Bars

  • Keep unused bars in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, heat, and humidity.
  • Store in paper or breathable packaging. Avoid sealed plastic containers — let the bar breathe.
  • Sealed and stored properly, the bar's best-before is approximately 24 months from manufacture.

Important

  • Don't leave the bar in pooled water — it will soften, dissolve faster, and shorten its useful life.
  • Don't store next to other strongly scented soaps; the bar can absorb other fragrances over time.
  • Keep out of reach of children and away from pets — tea tree oil can be harmful to cats and dogs.

The bar feels mushy or is dissolving fast.

This is almost always a storage issue. The triple-milled bar is dense by design and shouldn't soften in normal daily use. Check:

  • Is the bar sitting in pooled water in the soap dish? Switch to a draining dish.
  • Is direct shower spray hitting the bar between uses? Move the dish to a drier corner of the shower.
  • Is the bar fully drying between uses? Some shower environments stay humid — you may need to move the bar out of the shower entirely between uses.

The lather seems light or thin.

Veloria is formulated as a low-foam, dense-lather bar — it doesn't produce the airy, fluffy foam of high-foaming detergent-based soaps. That's by design. The lather should feel concentrated and creamy, not bubbly.

If the bar isn't lathering at all, make sure you're using warm (not cold) water and rubbing the bar between your palms or a damp washcloth for a few seconds before applying. Hard water in some regions can also reduce lather slightly.

The scent has changed or faded over time.

Tea tree oil and other botanical fragrances naturally mellow with time and exposure to air. A bar that's been open for a while may smell less pronounced than a fresh one. The functional ingredients remain stable through the bar's shelf life — the change in scent is a normal characteristic of botanical formulations and is not a sign of expiration.

If the bar has a noticeably off, rancid, or unpleasant smell (rather than a milder version of its original scent), discontinue use and contact us — that may indicate the bar wasn't stored properly.

My skin feels tight or dry after using it.

Some users — particularly those with naturally dry skin or those in low-humidity climates — find any cleansing soap can leave skin feeling tight. A few things to try:

  • Reduce frequency to once a day rather than twice, especially in winter or dry conditions.
  • Apply a fragrance-free moisturizer to the area after rinsing and patting dry.
  • Make sure you're rinsing thoroughly — soap residue left on the skin can contribute to tightness.

If tightness or dryness persists or develops into irritation, discontinue use and consult a healthcare provider.

I had a reaction during or after use. What should I do?

Stop using the product immediately and gently rinse the affected area with cool water.

If you are experiencing severe symptoms — significant swelling, difficulty breathing, widespread blistering — seek medical attention or call emergency services right away.

For mild irritation, symptoms typically resolve after discontinuing use; you may apply a fragrance-free moisturizer to soothe the area. If symptoms persist or worsen, consult a healthcare provider.

When Not to Use Veloria

Your safety comes first. Please read this section before your first use.

Do Not Use If You

  • Have active open wounds, broken skin, or significantly irritated skin in the area you intend to wash. Wait until the area has healed.
  • Have a known allergy or sensitivity to tea tree oil, essential oils, coconut, or witch hazel.
  • Are using on infants, toddlers, or children without first consulting a pediatrician or qualified healthcare provider.
  • Are pregnant, nursing, or planning a pregnancy and have not yet consulted your healthcare provider. While breastfeeding, do not apply to the breast or nipple area.
  • Have a diagnosed skin condition (such as eczema, psoriasis, rosacea, or any other) and have not first consulted a dermatologist or healthcare provider.

Do Not Apply

  • Near the eyes or on mucous membranes. If contact occurs, rinse immediately with clean water.
  • Internally or on internal mucous membranes.
  • On or near pets — tea tree oil can be harmful to cats and dogs. Store the bar out of reach of animals.

Stop Use & Consult a Healthcare Provider If You Experience

  • Redness, itching, burning, or irritation that doesn't resolve within 24 hours of stopping use.
  • Blistering, rash spread, or severe local swelling.
  • Any unexpected change in skin comfort during or after use.
  • Severe symptoms — significant swelling, difficulty breathing, widespread reaction — seek medical attention or emergency services right away.
